There are mysteries which men can only guess at, which age by age they may solve only in part. - Bram Stoker |
| An enterprising man of business and astonishing means, Vladimir Pohlmann owns property and vineyards virtually all over Europe, particularly in Eastern countries. He is well-versed in over six languages and in in the possession of has degrees --PHD as well as honorary-- relating primarily to the study of history, theology, and political science from several leading universities including Cambridge, Oxford, and Zurich. Nothing seems to tarnish his popularity in spite of several scandals involving his ex-wives and several male members of the paparazzi. He is as likely to dine alone as he is to spend a weekend giving advice to members of parliament. When Pohlmann is not traveling or lecturing at various universities, Vladimir has recently taken up what seems to be a permanent residence at the Carfax Abbey Hotel in Purfleet, London. The Carfax Abbey Hotel, not to be confused with the Carfax Hotel in Bath, is a property built only in the last fifteen years and one that he is quite proud of. Despite this somewhat permanent address and his obvious interest in Western Europe as well as the continental United States, a majority of his resources have been used to slowly increase Romania's tourism over the last few years by creating skiing resorts and restoring old castles as well as making natural attractions more visible and intriguing. His latest project is to expand and add to the country's underground railway system which currently only services Bucharest. It might occur to you that you ought to know him or should know more of him than what you have read in a paper of magazine. He might be very familiar to you in a way that you cannot explain after a first glance or even upon a second chance encounter. Inevitably, by the time you learn the truth of what Vladimir is, it will be far too late for you to successfully avoid him or do anything with the information. That is, of course, assuming you would even want to. |
